It may seem like things are slow going, but I assure you that we’re being more productive than ever behind the scenes here at Data Realms HQ. Arne has been cranking out an incredible amount of new art assets for pretty much every aspect of the game.

I’m talking several new craft (with complete gib sets), humanoid actors, entire sets of bunker modules, etc… It’ll take a while to get it all implemented (read: not by next build), but that won’t stop us from teasing you in the mean time! ;)

    It is amazing but hey people read the post instead of just looking at the pictures “not by next build” it is clearly stated so stop saying that you can’t wait for the next build for THIS.

    Though the picture is awesome and the idea of turrets and bunkers is very exciting. Keep up the good work.

    A few questions.

    1. If that is a turret, and it’s usable in the game, can actors enter and exit it?

    2. Is the campaign going to have anything added to it for the next build?

    A turret like that is possible in the current build.

    It’s a turret the size of a… tall midget. We’re probably going for a 5cm/pixel scale, meaning 20px per meter, so it might be 25-35 pixels high, I don’t know yet. Also, the legs are more like supports/springs, simpler than actor legs (no locomotion). The Rockets might get the same leg type, and who knows what else. We don’t know yet how it’ll work exactly, but the turrets might get a very weak jetpack/rocket for placement. You can see the nozzle on the concept. Think of it like a Sumo, to fat to fly well, but packs a good punch, and when you put it down the legs act as suspension (and will also be used to absorb recoil).

    But Data, you sure have given yourself a lot to do. People are expecting :

    1. Map editor
    2. Selective AI
    3. A new switching system
    4. New vehicles- new types of vehicles? probably.
    5. New actors
    6. Bunker modules- whatever they turn out to be.
    7. Other stuff which you alluded to be didn’t tell us about.

    Sounds great, but take care of your social life, do you hear ? :P

    Anyways I tryed to stick an article on cortext command up on wikipidea but people kept deleting it. Perhaps it wasn’t professional enough. Im glad to see this blog being updated I was worried this would go to development hell. Turrets would defently be sweet because all of my battles are too short. Even vsing the death comp. I just run over and blow up the brain. With a turrent they might be able to fight me off. :p

    As awesome as the whole “Mobile Cannon” bit would be, I think we can all agree that it needs to be enourmos. Simply having a wide scale battle with 20 troops on either side, and then seeing one side pull back as a monstrous walking tnak pulls up over the ridge, trampeling enemies close to it, and oblitering fleeing clusters with one fell swoop of the cannon…

    SOrry, little carried away.

    Anyways, make it enourmos. Please?

    Could you please implement portals?

    They are mostly already made with the x and y wrap.

    But they are pre-installed on a map.

    Code looking like:

    This is for a blue (leading to a red one) portal on a wall.

    I think that it would be great and there shud be a jet as well an you can shove troops in, also there shud be a mac version cus i played it on my pc and i loved it, but i now use a mac so i cant     Hopefully and propably it has bigger maps, because i think that turret thingie packs some searios amount of firepower, and in small map it would be easy to blow your self up by shooting your self to you back :D

    What you should do is add another tab in the buy menu, Labeled Defensive Fixtures, and make it so they aren’t dropped off, make it so a worker dude is and it goes to the spot and builds it, whole ass load of code, but that would be the shit man. Imagnie it, putting an mg fixture on the inside of your base so that all who enter get blow the fuck up. O Yea, i wouldn’t make the cannon massive, because something that size ought to have a fairly large minimum range if you know what i mean. Also, you guys really should make it so there is a way to buy a robot that auto mines, based off of where the gold is and where you move them to start mining, that way you don’t have to spend so much time mining, and you can stay more in the action. Again, not the quickest thing to code, but if you do think of how awesome it would be for the Game.     I just got the best idea ever everybody! You don’t check this site or your mail (if you signed up for the newsletter thingy) for 1 year. When you come back you will die because Data has made so much progress :D .

    Works for me with mods like sa-mp and mta but its impossible with cc. But I take it in 1 or 2 month periods instead ;) .

    i disagreed with the idea for realising the. instead i think it would be better that he would stop doing anything else but the next build.

    Few good ideas would be, move your pc next to your toilet so you dont need to leave pc when you take ****. :D

    Also other very time consuming problem is sleeping. But thank God humans inveted coffee. You just put coffee maker next to your pc so you don’t have to sleep. Energy trinks are also good, but drinking too much of them (according to my test subjects) it makes your mouth feel funny or numb. So i would suggest anymore than 3 cans of them per day. :D

    Hey, look at it this way instead; First there was a new build (with the new HUD nad stuff) but then Data decided to do another major change to the game (the physic engine) before launching it, so in one way we get /two/ new builds in one, just not one build. And then it’s only One month between each build :)

    Well, maybe it’s not the one with more comments, but it has the major changes ever (since CC 10, I wasn’t before that).

    AND, remember, Data told the release day when CC12 was going to be released, and then lots of people went crazy about the release (me included, though I didn’t write then). Imagine that Data says “CC14 will be released at 11PM” and doesn’t do it… that would generate about 300 comments in a night.

    Did Data any change more important than the new Physics Engine before CC10?

    This concerns your idea for tiles. If you are implementing tiles, than it’s a must-have for triggers and action, and I have the feeling you already thought of this, and I hope no one else said this before. Several new ships sounds pretty cool, turrets I can live without, and more actors I do need.

    This is going to be great. New physics should give it much more polish, while the new AI system will give it more of that RTS-ish aspect that data has talked about. I can see many mods needing fixing once the new build is released.

    Honestly, I could wait for a year, but not if I knew that it was a chance the build was made since the last time I checked yesterday. If data would’ve said a month ago that it’ll take at _least_ a month more, then I’m sure everyone would be more patient, or at least show more patience here.

    I have to agree with trouserdemon on this one, although I don’t know if gathering a heap of expecting comments is something you can blame someone for. IMO, 226 comments are 260 different proofs that what you’ve done is great. So keep at it Data, and don’t get hit by a car.
