Contrary to (understandable) popular belief, we are toiling away on the next build. I’ll try to get a series of posts going, each talking about a new feature or fix already completed for the upcoming version.

Concrete sprayer at work

Today’s featured… uh, feature is: sticky particles! Yes, now some of the spray from the concrete gun actually stick to walls and ceilings, as well as blood splashes, etc.

This enables you to reinforce tunnels and caverns you’ve dug in the bare dirt. Just spray some concrete up on the walls and it will set into much harder material to make intrusions difficult for your enemies!

    Sounds great, but if only some sticks to the roof when we aim it at the roof won’t stop drop to the floor which could cause a tunnel block?

    Any news is great so thanks and more is even better. the content is good as well i hate it when the concrete makes little walls which stop you from filling everything in propaly.

    So MOs have some sort of stickiness variable now?
    Or are you just making wet concrete have zero bounce and concrete gun round particles have even higher RestThreshold?

    Either way, it’s nice to know that something is going on, and that we’ll be hearing about it.

    Also, yay tools! I was sad that earlier CC versions did not use the concrete gun to its full potential. Being able to actually create barricades and walls will be sweet.

    Dang, man, I’m already way ahead of you with this. Oh well, it’ll be nice to have a new way of doing things.

    Also, what about weapons that cause emitters to form on the target. As in, weapons that make associated wounds on the target. This could be used to, among other things, set people on fire.

    Awesome. Hey, another thing you should add if you get around to it is slide material. Things would hit the slide material and slide all the way down to their target destination. This would allow for funnels for dropping equipment into. :3

    But don’t let that delay the next build. I want that thing as soon as humanly possible.

    will The sticky quality of the concrete be able to be applied to other weapons such as grenades?

    However, Bungie ever even knowing that Cortex Command exists is very unlikely. Plus, there is almost no moddable game that exists that lacks a Halo mod.

    Also, TheClam, that’s an absolutely ancient mod Zalo made. Like, early build 19 ancient.

    Data, what do you mean by sticky? We have that already, right? If you spray a concrete sprayer at the wall, it will already stick. Unless you mean that particles can stick to people. Then that would be nice. Maybe a way to make walking on dropships.

    The dropship has emitters on it that make particles that stick to it. Then the particles can be stepped on.

    Walking on dropships would actually be pretty fun. One guy drives it, the other person snipes/shoots people with bullets/rockets. And It’s not just dropships, its actors. So we can make good smashers. And some other stuff.

    And have you ever used the concrete gun? It doesnt stick at all. use the dirt concrete gun and compare it to the current one. the dirt one just kicks the current one’s ass. But it looks like we will now have a working concrete gun again!

    my sticky idea is fly trap floors. and someone could probably manage to make a sticky turret that could be attached to the wall or the celling

    And post 26 obviously is really old, just look at it! The old clone, old brain, i havent been around that long, but Im guessing that this was an early build of Cortex, and modded too, judging by the glows… I might be wrong, but there may have been a sticky capability earlier in cortex history.

    B18 wasn’t too long ago. There weren’t any major engine changes over the last two builds. Why would it stop working? And you can’t mod in glows and transparency with the modding things we have right now.

    I havent seen any sprayers that stick… if someone has a concrete sprayer type weapon that sticks, would they please post it, cause I dont want to wait for the “no build 21 in sight” concrete gun.

    and about the glows, I just meant that it was probably not a vanilla weapon because it glowed like no weapon that is included with the game.
