Download Test Build 12!… or Bummer, if you had to program and test it all :p

There are many very significant improvements to this version:

  • 1-4 player split screen, co-op against the CPU, or versus each other on two teams!
  • Multiple players on the same team can share the single brain and order what they want, when they want.
    D-Pad

  • Easily configure any damn controller under the sky to work beautifully, including…
  • Dual Analog

  • Mouse + Keyboard support!
  • Sharp aiming support for all control schemes; doesn’t go through walls
  • AI spotting, aiming, and firing logic is vastly improved… your AI guys are now useful guards!
  • Early implementation of ballistic shields. Wielding logic needs a lot more polish though.
  • Select which scene you want to play in! (yes, really)
  • After ordering new equipment, select where it should be delivered on the terrain.
  • No need to wait for the last order to arrive, queue up as many as you want and can afford, and order them to land wherever your strategy needs them!
  • Pause a game and bring up the main menu with [Esc], then resume the same game after changing controls and options!
  • Several more improvements and bug fixes which I can’t remember right now…

You can safely install this version over the last (11), but I can’t guarantee that all your user mods will still work. If you’re concerned, we recommend you install into a separate directory, and move one mod over at a time.

Enjoy blasting with and against up to three of your friends!

    What’s the control problem?

  2. 21GP - # February 13th, 2007 at 11:55 pm

This is buggy. That’s because it ISN’T BORING!

    Data, this is horribly great.
    HORRIBLY!

P.S. I know this post seems kind of ambigious. So let me say that it’s awesome, just to be clear.

When you’re doing multiplayer one player’s controls will control other player’s stuff, like actors and the buy menu.

  4. anonymous - # February 14th, 2007 at 1:10 am

I had that problem too , really made it quite unplayable

  5. Juggz - # February 14th, 2007 at 2:34 am

    DATA, the problem is this…

I have the controls (Arrow Keys, and numpad… defualt keys)
    My brother has (WASD, 123, Q, E)

When i have a rocket selected he can make it accelerate, he is also the only one who can control up and down on my buy menu.

Im the only one that can control left and right on his buy menu, and i may control his rockets too i haven’t tested that.

(In future i’d gladly be a tester for you Data as i play Brain vs Brain mostly)

Hope you understand what i wrote. 😀

Also can you tell us how to add extra maps to the map list?

CC is coming along awesomely now, efore it looked like a tech demo. Now it looks like a game.

  7. anonymous - # February 14th, 2007 at 2:41 am

that is exactly the same problem with me juggz
does anyone know where I can download build 11?

  10. anonymous - # February 14th, 2007 at 3:22 am

  11. Demetrius - # February 14th, 2007 at 3:43 am

Why didn’t I know this was out until someone on the forum said their mod worked with version 12 and i was like arent we on 11 and i thought that it couldn’t have come out because that email thing would have told me and…

    Calm

  13. anonymous - # February 14th, 2007 at 4:48 am

no its not; the controls are ropey and unusable

  14. MaximDude - # February 14th, 2007 at 5:04 am

    OMFG!!! ITS OUT DOWNLOADDDDDDDDd

  15. Data - # February 14th, 2007 at 7:09 am

Did you guys try to set up both players’ controls? IE if you end up controlling some things of another player, then you need to have both you and the other player try to go through the configuration sequence by using the ‘configure’ button. It will try to clear out the mappings.

Let me know if that works.

I’ve also found some other bugs which will be fixed in a patch shortly. So if you can calmly describe the problems you are having without just saying “it sucks!!1”, then please head over to the general CC forums and write it up for us.

    Thanks!

  16. mooseproduce - # February 14th, 2007 at 7:35 am

I don’t think anyone said “it sucks!!1”; people have, in fact, given you the exact problem in well-written sentences. For the most part.

I’m finally about to play this, but I have no friends (in the immediate vicinity) so only 1p for me. :'(

  17. KarvaBopi - # February 14th, 2007 at 7:41 am

    hmm i know one bug.

    I changed the player 1 controls to arrows and numpad 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and enter

But when i press 4 and 5 to go buy menu i have to move in the menu with W and S to up and down and left and right arrows to left and right. so in the menu the up arrow and down arrow dont work but W and S somehow works…

  18. KarvaBopi - # February 14th, 2007 at 7:48 am

And when you reload the arm starts to spin like crazy but i think someone has sayed it but im too lazy to read

  19. SquallLeonE - # February 14th, 2007 at 9:23 am

Is it me, or does one player skirmish not work? Whenever I start it, it just says “WIN” and tells me to restart if I want to play again.

  20. Galaxy613 - # February 14th, 2007 at 9:24 am

DATA, I’ve tried many many MANY times to configure each player. But somewhere in the code the controls are linked. Test it for yourself!

  21. SquallLeonE - # February 14th, 2007 at 9:29 am

    Nevermind… I think it’s just on a certain map it doesn’t work.

  22. Data - # February 14th, 2007 at 9:31 am

Squall, it’s only if you choose the grasslands scene… it’s because it only has one brain in it, therefore the game thinks one team has won. Try Prom Grounds or Grass Duel instead.

Galaxy, I’ve trying desperately to reproduce what you’re describing.. I’ve got two players, both classic keyboard setups with the recommended settings, no problems. Then i try to reconfigure them to swap the controls completely, and still no problems! Can you please describe exactly how many players you have, which players’ buttons are getting confused, and exactly what you have them set to? Thanks.

  23. Tonzza - # February 14th, 2007 at 9:42 am

FINALLY CAN SELECT MAPS!!!!! THANXXX NEEDED IT ALOT

  24. PromoStarr - # February 14th, 2007 at 10:02 am

  25. Data - # February 14th, 2007 at 10:16 am

Galaxy, I found the problem and fixed it. New build coming soon

  26. robburdon - # February 14th, 2007 at 11:25 am

    my mouse aiming dont work,
    shame.
AND WHERE IS THIS DATA LAND?!?

  27. Kimaru - # February 14th, 2007 at 11:42 am

Downloaded in 2 seconds it’s pretty cool 😀

  28. JLrep - # February 14th, 2007 at 11:45 am

Would it be a simple matter to increase the size of the aiming reticle? I think it would help calm down the complaints about mouse-aiming.
