Yep, it’s out. Here’s a few of the notable additions/changes:

  • Full Lua scripting of any object, not only missions. Documentation here.
  • A lot of added content, most of it is still works in progress though. All kinds of toys to play with!
  • Improved buying menu now displays long item names correctly and more clearly
  • Buy menu Presets can now be made to quickly switch between completely different shipment loadouts!
  • New in-game music by dannyB
  • Several new campaign and skirmish missions in the works.
  • Fixed scene editor making the game not load afterward
  • As always, several months’ worth of general touches and improvements

Again, note that the detailed Lua binding documentation is up! Will be writing a separate post and some tutorials on the scripting soon – this is powerful stuff. Modders can now make nearly anything happen in the game engine, as if they had access to the C++ source!

Be patient. Two months is a pretty short time for a new build. We waited about a year between 18 and 19. Think of it as the longer it takes between builds, the more stuff will be added.

Yeah, we could use some of those too. Blowing tidy holes in things is healthy & fun!

    Any new updates?
I don’t want a new build, i just want to know what is happening with the game. 🙂

About 2 months and no update. Like Will said I’m not looking for a new build, I just want to know if data is even still alive/still working. This no update stuff is reminding me of Valve and Data doesn’t have the cred in my opinion to get away with it, not without ‘a lot’ of people getting pissy and turning away a large number of potential buyers and that’s really not a good idea for him or his game

I have found a bug in the latest build. This might already have come to your attention, but if a medic/drone hits the ground hard enough he’ll go into it. This happens with most players, but with the drones if you try to move he falls through the ground and disappears off the bottom of the map as if it weren’t there. I hope this information is of value to you.

I just fired up this game for the first time in months(I’ve been swamped with work and other things), and I ended up playing for hours without being able to stop. I had forgotten how much fun this game is. It has to be one of the best games I have ever played.

I dont know if this is a bug, but u can take enemies in your crafts, fly away, and sell them.

    Great game…

  19. ToadMan667 - # November 12th, 2009 at 4:03 pm

    It’s not a bug. It’s a fully-intended feature.
