 Dumb fire rockets So, I was talking in IRC and came up with a simple mod I could make quick (I have attention span issues when making mods). And I was wondering. How can I make dumb rockets? Like rockets that wooble randomly around after firing

Re: Dumb fire rockets I'd imagine make the rocket an AEmitter, with one emission being a relatively heavy, low life, infrequently emitted particle with a spread of over 1, would do the trick. Perhaps half of the emitter's mass for the mass of the particle and a ParticlesPerMinute of under 60.

Re: Dumb fire rockets Alternatively, have the rocket have attached AEmitters, one for thrust forward, one firing left and one firing right. As long as they're level and not exactly in line with the Sprite Offset they'll fly randomly but relatively straight. Of course then there's the fun of biased rockets that fly in wild loops whilst still moving forward...

Re: Dumb fire rockets yeah, or you could just make an extra propellant emission with a large spread for exactly the same effect. or just up the spread on the normal propellant emission (in the coalition rocket launcher's case, Air Blast).

Re: Dumb fire rockets I just thought of something awesome, if you used Lua would you be able to change the ParticlesPerMinute value on the thruster Emitters? If so, using Lua, you could make a form of steerable missile that acts similarly to a Rocket. And with some more complicated code you could make a homing missile that's similarly more realistic (i.e. steering to hit an enemy rather) instead of continually aiming at the enemy.

When will you upload it? I probably won't upload it, the mod compendium got closed and this doesn't really deserve a thread.
