I'm a proud owner of an EEEpc and I recently found this magnificent game..
While it was running perfectly on my desktop I thought that this would be an excellent addition to my other games on the EEE, unfortunately, when I launched it on the laptop it reported that the graphics mode (don't quite recall what exactly did it tell) is unsupported. I used a program to emulate a 800x600 screen on it and CC worked perfectly. So, I wanted to know if there is any way to get it working @ 800x480 (I did a quickie test with the settings.ini file but it wasn't successful so I thought of spamming this).

From what I know, its running environment is locked at 800x600, previous builds had a resolution changer but I don't think there's much else you can do yet.

800x480? The hell kind of laptop is that small?

Or he's computer noob, who can't figure out how to increase the resolution! ( Hint : Right Click the desktop, then select properties, then select Settings, then adjust the resolution )

His laptop's native resolution is probably that small Foa. Then again, I dunno.

Base.rte/Settings.ini is the only way to change the game resolution as of now. It may be changed in the future, but that's unlikely. If you don't mind stretched pixels, just make it fullscreen. If you do, then change settings.ini, but, as far as I know, that only supports a few aspect ratios; it's not total support.

If 800x600 is emulated with scaling (stretch) then any text is absolutely unreadable, so stretch kinda falls out.
The EEE (closed) is almost as large as a DVD case and the screen is 7" btw.

Well... thanks for the replies.

Full support for all kinds for resolutions will be in b21, with option int eh menu detecting the ones that work on your machine.

What part of the settings.ini change didn't work? Did you adapt the GUI as well?

Does that mean full screen that looks good?

Yes.

And if you're playing full screen on a resolution larger than a map, the map will LOOP.

Meaning you will see yourself in a distorted house of mirrors effect.

I'm going to make a 48x2400 pixel scene just to watch it.

uh, doesn't it already? Go knock yourself out, Grif. :P Me, I'm just curious how it will handle items/actors so wide that they intersect themselves.

Items that intersect themselves...

you don't wanna know how it handles those.

Been there, done that.

It's bad news.

Also, we can make maps smaller than the game resolution already, but the outside borders will just be a trippy black empty render zone.
