I have imminent end of school exams, which unfortunately happen to be set on the days around which the contest submissions end, so I'm releasing this now in an unfinished state that doesn't work as intended. If you want to help me with the final step, see: viewtopic.php?f=75&t=19889
/sob story

Now then, onto the mod!

The Tradestar's hangars have become overcrowded with used rockets which have suffered vast amounts of battle damage. All of those rockets you people have managed to get into orbit with 10hp have ended up back where they started, but unable to be resold. There's no easy way to dispose of them and they're becoming a nuisance so the tradestar is practically paying you to take them off her hands.

How the finished mod should work: You purchase a "Used vehicle" for -100oz, and get a random one of several beaten up crafts, possibly including dropships, to get your selected payload to the ground. Each one will handle very differently and they have a variety of failed components.

How the mod currently works: You have a selection of 3 differently broken rockets, each priced at -100oz. Each one handles very differently and they have a variety of failed components.

This is the kind of mod I like!
It kinda makes me nostalgic for all those rockets I have launched into orbit after having the crap beaten out of them!

too bad it is unfinished, i would have drooled over some dropships.

Good concept, reminds me of that toxic waste barrel mod ages ago.

Its flawed though. If tradestar would actually pay you 100oz, then they're really going to get bankrupt fast.
Instead, make the rockets be like a second hand product that you have to pay for, but at a very low price. Like 5oz or 10oz. They're still craft, so even with failed components its still a powerful weapon or a useful transport.

As a sidenote, you could actually use this mod for educational purposes to teach that "cheaper is not better" or "quality over quantity". Make the customers suffer for being greedy bastards when they do not invest in a new craft.

Players in cortex command probably spend thousands of ounces in single games. Just building a bunker usually costs a few thousand, not to mention the soldiers bought in game. On-topic : This is a great mod. I love how rocket 1's side thrusters seem to short out when you try to use it. Most of them crash before coming back, making it fulfill the storyline. All in all, a great mod. 9/10

And since rockets don't look like that after being sent up, the atmespthere does it to them. :grin:

or rather the lack of atmosphere.

the rocket with missing sidethruster could use a few sparks at the location were the thruster is.
prices could use need's balancing , i dislike "minus" prices
as its not really like your getting paid for taking there stuff , they could just dump it somewere for free.
give them low prices depending on how workable they are .
and maybe add another rocket with minor damage , slightly lacking left or right sidethruster power ,makes for unusual flight.
also if its doable maybe slight variable mainthruster output.

EDIT: forgot to mention Pro`s.
i like there looks ,they basicly act as good as they look , or as bad.

I'll address pricing soon enough. I just got a letter from the university saying I have guaranteed entrance no matter what my exam scores, so I can spend less time studying and more on this. :D

It still probably won't be updated for a long while however.
