Thanks! I currently have the 2004 version done, but I'm going to hold off the update untill I get the camera feature working.

Okay, to the review.
Overall, Really cool mod, It works well, It looks great, but there are a few minor Issues.

For one, I use a Gamepad with 2 Sticks and the Left+Right+Crouch doesn't work with that, so it would be nice if you changed it to something like double clicking the Pie menu button or something.

Also, the fire sounds aren't suited for Translocators, They sound too Heavy, And the Teleport sound isn't Great either, But the sounds aren't that Big of a Deal.

I'm not mentioning the Tele-fragging here, because i know you are still working on that right now.

Although it Still has a place in my Mods folder Despite these problems.

Don't worry, Siric. I'll get controls for gamepads working in the next update.

But for now, Telefrag is working!

Officially badass. I love the telefragging!
Can you make some shortlived blue glowy particles appear where the actor used to be? In UT, when you teleport via the Translocator a bunch of glowy particles appear where you were that roughly looked like you player model. You could simplify it by making a roughly actor-shaped "body" of glowy particles.

I could try my hand at spriting this "body" if you could apply glows.

Also, sounds for the UT99 version (read Best Version) are incoming for you.

I added "simple" controls for Gamepad users, original UT sound effects, some glowy visual effects, and a minor bug-fix.

Awesome, Downloading... Again. :P

Edit: This mod is Epic! (No pun intended.)
My only problems with it are Very minor and barely worth mentioning.
For one all the Translocators use the UT99 sounds, But this is hardly noticeable.
The Blue Shiny effects appear where the Teleporter was, But not where he is going, Which is Odd, but again hardly noticeable.
When the UT99 Translocator disk landed and stopped moving, a Small antenna would extend from it, blinking red and/or blue lights Depending on teams.
About this size, Ignore the Dots.

______|______
|____________|

Also, when Translocator disks are Shot and Teleported to, they Vaporize the user of the Translocator.

And the Simple controls don't Allow you to switch Weapons after throwing a Disk, because the disk gets recalled.

Other than these little issues, Its an Awesome mod.

For the simple controls, I was planning to do the double-tap method you suggested, but I can't get it to work with Lua (yet).

The blue glowing particles are where the teleportee was because LFOW said that in UT, that's wht happens. But I can change that if you want.

The flag/light thing is going to wait untill I get the simple controls working.

Oh, BTW, try this: make a whole bunch of clones, fire a bunch of beacons next to each of them, and teleport.

Yeah, that would be cool if it were in both places like in UT99.

Post Re: UT: Translocator *Update (8-22-09) FX and "Simple" Controls
Sorry. My memory is a little fuzzy.
Let me clarify what happens with the Translocator in UT 99.
1 -Actor fires disc.
2 -Disc settles.
3 -Disc raises antenna with a glowy color (user's team color)
4 -User teleports to disc's location instantly
5 -Glowy particles matching the players team color are left behind the user's former position, in the shape of their body
6 -A glowy spiral blue streamer effect appears where the user teleports to as they appear there.
7 -Disc disappears and is reloaded to the translocator

NOTES:
-If disc is shot at after disc settles but before the user teleports to it, the disc becomes a death trap, and kills the translocator user if he tries to teleport to a distrupted disc. A disrupted disc loses its antenna glow.

-User of the translocator can choose to return the disc to the gun rather than teleport to it in order to enable a "re-throw".

This video is the best I could find displaying the full process above:

Firing multiple disks will teleport you to the latest disc, whilst still telefragging all the other discs.

Should make it so only one disc can be active at a time. If you shoot another, the previous should gib or be destroyed instantly.

Give it infinite ammo, and disable WEAPON_FIRE till the user has teleported.

This.
But obviously, replacing until they've teleported with until the disk is gone.

Is the whole shoot-the-module-and-get-gibbed-when-you-teleport-to-it possible/going to be implied?
