BILL 0001; ANNEXATION OF COMMUNITY SECTION
I am considering removing the 'community' section on the front page, mostly because it's completely useless. It has absolutely no information that isn't already obvious from looking at the forums, and I'm pretty sure that people don't hop from here to the forums, but the other way around. Does anybody have any arguments? --sysOp Demetrius 18:04, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

- I like this horizontal configuration, but DAMAN aka JERKATRON does not. --sysOp Demetrius 01:55, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- Well I have no qualms about removing the community section, but the horizontal format stinks. If your browser window isn't very wide the main page scrolls off to the right. And that stinks. --MasterNetHead 01:42, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure any modern browser automatically re-formats the text, but I don't think the table changes. Daman said he was going to work on something, but I haven't seen any results as of yet. --sysOp Demetrius 22:16, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- Main page doesn't even fill up a 1024x768 screen now, looks like a tiny little page on 1680x1050. It's so tiny I'm thinking of appending stub onto it. Plus there is a big ugly space on the bottom of the table, fix that. Sysop Daman 10:23, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Main table color(and most table on wikis)
Well, cortex command is red. That's the colors of the forums, site, etc. It's always been. Why is our wiki to be any different? I think the default css styles for the links etc should be changed to red and variations of such. And the tables, little alerts at the top such as the one on the editing policy page etc are blue. I think those should get changed to red too. Then there's the main page table..Blue. And the red CC logo is right above it. Looks out of place.

I propose this color variation. But the thing is, it's bright pink. I'm not too much of a fashion designer here with this, what would be a better red variation? And those blue icons don't look too great either.
Daman 17:08, 13 December 2007 (CST)
IMO, I think the blue should stay, as:
A) It matches the colour-scheme of the wiki, I mean, if they change the wiki-skin, then fine, but until then it should match the wiki not the game.
B) YOU HURT MY FEELINGS ON IRC.
Ricky26 17:10, 13 December 2007 (CST)
IMO, I think your opinion is null and void as:
A) CSS can be changed easily, all I need to do is talk with WJ, and we can probably change the skin of the wiki. Blue text red, and missing pages in BLUE text. WHAT NOW BLUE, WHAT NOW? The pink or a different red would then go with it a bit more, and the wiki would match the rest of DataRealms.
B) You're new here, you don't know that the forum's always been red. So has everything else.
Daman 17:15, 13 December 2007 (CST)
Look. I sense a war here.
I've been registered on the forums, since May. I know its red. But as far as I can tell, at the moment, the wiki... is not. And I even said that if they changed the CSS then the table should be changed. Also, changing the CSS is not easy, comparatively, AS WE CANT DO IT. Only the management can. On top of that your point B is void and null.
Ricky26 17:25, 13 December 2007 (CST)
I don't care how long you've been registered, you're not a participating member of the community normally. If you were you'd know that most of us know "the management"(see: Wizardjames). He is one to listen to suggestions long-standing members of the community such as myself and most of the irc users. So changing the CSS is easy, code-wise, and access-wise, as long as WJ agrees that the changed colors would look good.
On top of that my point B isn't null.
Daman 17:46, 13 December 2007 (CST)
Explain? "B) You're new here, you don't know that the forum's always been red. So has everything else."
The date I was registered bares relevance, because it shows that I know what the forums look like. >_> And that I'm not so new about.
And you missed my point, even if my brother was in the management, I'd have to wake him up to get the CSS changed, and if there is a mistake I'd have to send him files again, etc.
I'd go with: make a nice background image... So you can texture it slightly, dashed red border and such. Once the skin gets sorted. ;) Ricky26 17:59, 13 December 2007 (CST)
Hey, what about gif uploading? I need some animations! --Ghost Bear 07:22, 28 December 2007 (CST)
slight change?
instead of "Information on how to mod Cortex Command." maybe "Information and tutorials on how to mod Cortex Command."?
Spiff our Search results
OK so currently when you Google for CortexWiki you get our main page and the blurb about it "being largely devoid of content." So if some adventurous soul feels like filling out the main page a bit, that would be awesome. I'm just not sure what to put. --MasterNetHead 21:42, 19 April 2008 (CDT)
Maybe "Welcome to CortexWiki! At the moment, it is largely devoid of content, but that will be changing in the weeks to come. Feel free to help out. A wiki for the users by the users." should be changed to "Welcome to CortexWiki, the wiki for information on Cortex Command, the Data Realms Fan Forums, and general Data Realms information! At the moment, this wiki is new and thus pretty empty, but that will be changing in the weeks to come, especially should you choose to contribute. We encourage you to do so, as this is a wiki by the Cortex Command community, for the Cortex Command community." 'Devoid of content' is too clinical. Also, perhaps a brief blurb about Cortex Command with a link to the article might help. In addition, a Wikinews type feature involving articles about the Devlog posts or community events such as mod contests, etc. might be valuable. --The Fat Sand Rat 14:44, 21 April 2008 (CDT)
Bot
Hey, people. I added a bot to the wiki. He isn't automated or anything, so give it a bit of time. I'm not that advanced with this whole bot thing, but hey, I got it online.User:Dummy1138.--{Ultric} 21:01, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
